Do you like this look? I am dressed up as another Kendra Wilkinson. Hugh Hefner's youngest girlfriend and I share the same name - LOL
O.K. so maybe I won't make it on the pages of Playboy and I'll probably never see the inside of the mansion but I can pretend to be a bunny! Can you tell that I love this time of year?

From Photo to Painting

Have you ever wondered how it's done? What did the original photo reference look like? Well, sometimes they look totally different than the beautiful painting you see before you. There is some prep work involved. There are times when I use 3 or 4 photos to make one complete painting. Here is an example of that. Those cute mice paintings didn't start out so cute. You try to get a mouse to sit still in a tea cup AND look at the camera and say cheese all at the same time! ha ha Daisy did a terrific job but I did have to change a few things. It's kind of like photographing children. You find something they like to play in or with and let them go at it and then gently guide them to look at you or atleast sit still for a few seconds so you can get something other than a blur. With Daisy, I had to let her explore the cup and table and when she started to get a little calmer I would pick her up and sit her back down in the cup and then quickly take a few photos. I also walked around and took shots from many different angles and even climbed on a chair and took some from above. Then I look at the photos on the computer to see if I have enough to make a painting. In some cases I had to add her tail or move the cup handle from one side to the other. I also had to add or fix some of the flowers and in some cases I've even turned the subject completely around so that it looks like they are facing the camera. I should also warn you that critters tend to use the bathroom so be ready for that!! lol Well that's all for today. Let me know what you think and feel free to ask questions.
